The Fabrication Equipment Operator prepares for pipe modification processes, including removal of tape and/or cement, laying out cutting paths, and perforating pipe.
- Follows all safety policies and initiates safety improvements.
- Reviews drawings, diagrams, written specifications and instructions to determine, fitting and welding requirements.
- Plans layout and cutting processes.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures cutting machine.
- Removes tape, cement and other materials as required in order to prepare pipe for cutting and re-welding.
- Sets up equipment and perforates pipe, using appropriate cutting tools or torches.
- Requires minimal, if any, supervision to accomplish the essential functions of the job.
- Other duties may be assigned by management including but not limited to cross training and housekeeping.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to work 2nd Shift schedule.
- Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, read and understand pipe drawings, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to speak effectively with supervisors and other employees.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to accurately read tape measure.
- Must be able to understand and execute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must be able to recognize and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to use company computer systems to view and understand the action required from the dispatch list.
- Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
- Must be able to read, understand and interpret blueprints.

- The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
